Selling Through Us
We stock a range of small press books and independently printed and published zines at Typewronger! And we try our hardest to support new and local publishers, zinesters and authors. In fact, as a Community Interest Company, it’s literally one of the reasons we exist.
If you have something you think we’d like, here’s an idea of how to get us to sell it.
First off, what are you selling?
To find out if we’ll sell your stuff, we need to know what it is! If you have an Advanced Information (AI) sheet about your book or zine, send it to info@typewronger.com. If not, don’t worry! We need to know:
– Format (is it a book? a zine? how many pages, short synopsis, and so on)
– RRP (how much you’d like people to pay for it)
– Discount (How much you would sell it to us for. Industry standard is 40%: so, if your book/zine costs £10, we would buy it into stock from you for £6). Discounts are a great way to negotiate quantity. If you want us to take more copies, you might offer a more generous 50% discount. 30% is absolute rock bottom.
– Who wrote/produced it? Are you local, highlighting an under-represented community, a new writer? Are you a collective or a student group?
Again, send this to info@typewronger.com. If you want to show us stuff in person, come in when Tee is on shift (generally Tuesday and Thursday, 11am-5pm; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 11am-9pm). Please note we do NOT keep sample copies as we have no way of storing these.
The best way to work out if we’d sell something is by looking at what we already sell! Come in to browse our zines or check out a selection here.

We like your stuff! What next?
If you have received an agreement from Tee to stock your product, you’ll need to hand it into the shop and send an invoice to invoice@typewronger.com. You’ll receive an automated response explaining how we pay invoices – pay close attention! Everything you need to know is in there, including what to do if things go awry.
What we DO NOT stock
There are products we do not stock for various reasons. Check the list below before getting in touch:
– Any book published by Amazon (they undercut us and other small shops and we will not support them in any way).
– Any book already available through Gardners (we would order through them instead).
– Any item promoting intolerance, hate speech, and so on (this should be obvious!).
Help!
If you’ve never done this before it can all be a bit daunting, but worry not! Our bookshop is staffed by people who have done this all before. From conception to printing all the way to pricing and stocking, we are more than happy to help lead you through the process and offer advice and support.
If you have any questions, use our contact page or just pop in.
